How to rule as a minority has many answers.

In the nineties, it became obvious. Demographic trends were leading the nation in a more urban and progressive direction. Republicans set in motion a plan: How to maintain power as a minority.

It was a full-scale effort. The Koch Brothers led the way. Murdoch crafted a disinformation empire. And Republicans laser-focused on the branch of government most vulnerable to shenanigans, the courts; the golden ring being SCOTUS.

The last four years have been a culmination of GOP planning and it has gone spectacularly well. If you’ve ever wondered why lately the Constitution seems optional for Republicans, it’s because nothing can be allowed to derail preparation for the moment dead-ahead. The moment when the minority will attempt to seize permanent power against an American majority.

The justices are in place, the disinformation machine is primed, the moderates marginalized. No one doubts Biden wins the popular vote. Republicans have surrendered the popular vote. What matters is suppressing a full- accounting to ensure victory in critical areas and having a 6–3 majority in the Supreme Court as a backstop.
