Racism Is Not An Excuse For Racism

To end racism, everyone needs to examine their words. Firing back across the line with sweeping generalizations about the ‘other’ side doesn’t help. It hurts.

White people need to stand for racial justice. It’s not enough to rage on the Internet. Make a sign, go down to the corner and stand for racial justice. It’s not complicated. It doesn’t need to be a grand gesture. Do it.

Black people need to lead. White people need to follow. Black people need to invite white people to march.

Black Lives Matter. That’s what this is about. If Black Lives Matter the rest will follow. Don’t answer all lives matter. Nobody is saying they don’t. What they’re saying is Black Lives Matter.

The list of black lives not mattering is long and bloody.

All Americans should put on masks, grab brooms, help shopkeepers sweep up broken glass, check on the elderly, and march.

Stand for racial justice. Don’t lose your power with cheap words.
