Can Biden’s Basement Campaign win?

Trump wears no mask. He travels to factories. He stands at the podium. He agitates

Democrats chose Biden before the pandemic. The most vulnerable amoung us are elderly white men. What choice does Biden have? His basement tapes are it.

Yesterday, Quinipiac had Biden at 51% and Trump at 38% Does that mean Biden’s strategy is a winning strategy? No. Biden didn’t make a strategic decision. It was forced on him. Those May polling numbers are Trump’s doing.

Trump vs Nature. That’s what this campaign becomes. Trump knows if the pandemic continues, he loses. Biden won’t have to come out of the basement. The Quarantine Victory.

Trump declares tbe pandemic over. What else can he do? The damn pandemic better be over. He knows he’s toast if it isn’t. So why not just ditch the mask, heap praise on his crisis management and anoint himself with laurels?

You can’t gaslight a plague. Not when you’re digging mass graves. But Trump will give it go anyway. If the clouds part and the sun shines he might just squeak out a victory. Maybe the bread lines disappear. Maybe a vaccine appears. Maybe a $5 trillion hole is not such a bad thing.

It’s a campaign of maybes and what ifs. None of it has to do with Biden. He might as well just stay at home and make his basement tapes.
