My top 5 rules of social media.

The bots are coming. Seriously. I’m already seeing them on my feeds. I personally want to do my bit in the War On Lies. I also want to protect my followers. I’ve had followers driven to distraction by death threats. So I made some rules.

  1. Any attack on me or my followers and I block the attacker.
  2. Post lies or retweet lies is an automatic block
  3. Pretend to be something you’re not — block.
  4. Rant off your head using foul language — block.
  5. Give me bad vibes — block.

Why so serious? I don’t want a repeat of 2016. I don’t want to participate in any spread of lies, hate, distortions. My little blocks stop it cold on my feed, stop my followers being exposed to toxic hate, stop the ugly voices who think they have the right to say anything they want. Not on my feed. Freedom of speech is a negotiation with me.

Trolls look for trouble. Look someplace else. You want to fight? Take up shadow boxing. You think being an asshole is funny? Jokes on you. You’re blocked into your own little corner of hate.

I’ve heard all I have to hear from Trump, Republicans, Fox and all the other haters. You ain’t using my back anymore. You’re on your own.
